Handbags come in every shape and size, and as you probably already know, sometimes all the options can seem a bit overwhelming. Basic Handbag Styles:

Messenger, Sling - (also called a courier bag) is a type of sack, usually made out of some kind of cloth (natural or synthetic), that is worn over one shoulder with a strap that winds around the chest resting the bag on the lower back. Prada Messenger Bag

Material Options:



Leather - Probably the most common material choice for handbags. Leather is durable, versatile, readily available, and affordable. It comes in just about every color imaginable, and can be finished in a variety of ways (glazed, patent, pebbled, suede, etc.).

Exotic Skins - Ostrich skin, and other reptile skin such as python, lizard, alligator, and crocodile are considered more exotic and therefore are generally more expensive than your basic cowhide leather bags. Exotics skins are characterized by their unique textures, natural patterns.

Canvas - Formed out of a tightly woven cotton material, canvas handbags often come printed in multi colored patterns, or trimmed in other materials such as leather . The material is light weight, causal, and inexpensive making it perfect for the spring / summer seasons.

Synthetic - Synthetic bags often serve as a cheaper or more durable alternative to natural materials such a leather, exotic skins, and straw. From a distance, their appearance and texture are often indistinguishable from the real thing, making them a great option for animal lovers, and girls on a budget.
